If this is August, it must be tomato season. Is your garden loaded with tomatoes? Could you not resist stocking up at your local farmers market? And peppers – so many varieties! What to do?

Join the UCCE Master Food Preservers of Sacramento County and learn ways to freeze, dehydrate, and can your tomato and pepper bounty so you can enjoy them year-round. Go home with lots of recipes from chili sauce to tomato preserves to pasta sauce. Learn the ins and outs of freezing tomatoes to produce a quality product; and dehydrating tomatoes and peppers safely to use in soups, stews, and as a powder.

$5 materials fee payable at the door, no reservations required.
