Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Sponsor: Master Food Preservers of Sacramento County

The beginning of winter is a colorful time in the harvest world! Enjoy the bright orange persimmons, deep red of both pomegranate arils and cranberries, vibrant gold pumpkins and winter squashes, and the pale perfection of butternut squashes all year long by preserving them for later meals.
Join the UCCE Master Food Preservers as they demonstrate canning, dehydrating and freezing methods for late fall and early winter produce. Learn which pumpkin varieties are best for canning and what to do if you don’t have those varieties. Try something new with pickled pumpkins and cranberry mustard. Learn how to make a self-contained soup or separate jars of soup ingredients to mix and match for custom results.
Leave the demonstration with lots of recipes and ideas to finish stocking your pantry for the year.
$5 materials fee payable at the door, no reservations required.
